Changes to our Fees - July 2025

This is an important update to our billing policy that will take effect from 1 July 2025.

Since opening more than four years ago, we have offered up to six bulk billed visits per calendar year for MyMedicare-registered patients holding concession cards, alongside discounted consultations for non-concession card holders. This policy was designed to support equitable access to care while ensuring the ongoing sustainability of our practice.

From 1 July 2025, this specific aspect of the policy will be phased out.

This change follows extensive consultation with the independent GPs who practice at Next Practice Deakin. Like many other businesses medical practices are also facing increasing financial and professional pressures.

At Next Practice Deakin, we remain committed to supporting both our patients and doctors through this transition. Our care model continues to prioritise clinical autonomy while seeking to provide consistent, accessible, and high-quality care for all.

The medicare rebates rise from 1 July 2025. The gap fee for private consultations at Next Practice Deakin will remain unchanged.

We recognise that the broader healthcare policy landscape is shifting, particularly following federal elections and ACT budgets. We will keep our billing approach under review and adapt in response to future changes as they become clear.

Thank you for your understanding and for your continued trust in our team. We are committed to keeping you informed of any further changes in a timely and transparent manner.

Listed below is our updated fee schedule from July 2025. You can also review the fees by using our online tool. Please review our article on Understanding the Changes to Medical Fee Structure at Next Practice Deakin to understand the reasons and rationale.

Australian Menopausal Society Symptom Score Card

The AMS Symptom Score Card is a short questionnaire designed to help you and your doctor understand the severity and impact of your menopause or perimenopause symptoms. It allows you to record symptoms such as hot flushes, sleep disturbance, mood changes, cognitive changes, vaginal dryness and other physical or emotional concerns. Each symptom is rated on a simple scale, helping track changes over time. Completing the score card before your appointment helps your doctor: 1. Understand your most concerning symptoms 2. Assess how menopause is affecting your daily life 3. Guide decisions about treatment options 4. Monitor your progress over time We encourage you to complete the scorecard before your menopause consultation and bring it with you, or submit it via your online form if provided.
