Changes to the team

Your care, backed by more hands and experience

Dr Cheryl Chan

Dr Cheryl Chan completed her medical degree at the Australian National University and trained at Canberra and Calvary Hospitals before becoming a GP in 2021. She takes a holistic, collaborative approach to care, with interests in preventative health, chronic disease, womens and childrens health, and family planning including reproductive health and contraception. Cheryl also offers a range of procedural services and enjoys hiking with her dog in her spare time. She welcomes new and existing patients.

Dr Tang Sheng Zeng

Dr Tang Sheng Zeng is a Canberra-based GP with a strong clinical and academic background, including a PhD from the University of Queensland and experience across major health institutions, including the TGA and several hospitals. Fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, his interests include general medicine, acute care, and skin procedures, and he is known for his calm, practical approach to patient care. He welcomes new and existing patients.

Dr Elizabeth Wong

Dr Wong is transitioning to focus on procedural services by the end of the year, following specialised study. She'll continue to offer: cervical screening, and contraceptive procedures (both Implanon and IUD insertion/removal), skin procedures (biopsy/excisions of benign and suspicious lesions), cryotherapy and diathermy of benign lesions. Referrals from other GPs are welcome.

If you currently see Dr Wong for general GP care, our reception team can help you select another GP who is a good fit for your ongoing needs while Dr Wong focuses on procedures.

Dora Son - Nurse Practitioner

We also welcome Dora.  Dora is a nurse practitioner and has a special interest in men's health as well as alcohol and drug-related health issues. He welcomes new patients and referrals. He works closely with our GPs to coordinate safe, evidence-based care pathways.

We have upgraded our clinical system to support safer, more coordinated care. What you'll notice:

October 2025 Patient Experience Snapshot

Sharing what we heard so we can keep improving

In October 2025, we invited patients to complete a short, voluntary survey using a standard Net Promoter Score (NPS) question: How likely are you to recommend our practice to a friend or family member? .

The calculated score was 64.4, indicating that far more patients are strong promoters than detractors, and this is considered a very strong result in service industries, including healthcare. Practically, it suggests high overall satisfaction and trust, with room to keep improving toward world-class levels (often cited around 70+).

What this tells us
  • Most respondents reported a very positive overall experience.
  • A small number noted delays when sessions were running behind.
  • Interest in our digital tools was neutral to positive, with requests for clear guidance.
What were doing next
  • Punctuality updates: Well continue to inform patients about expected wait times during busy periods.
  • Communication refinements: Well keep providing clear information about appointments, results, and care pathways.
  • Ongoing feedback: Well invite more patients to share quick, anonymous feedback to guide small, continuous improvements.
Thank you

Thank you to everyone who completed the survey and to our team for their ongoing commitment to safe, coordinated, patient-centred care.

We always welcome comments and suggestions and you're welcome to provide these via our comments and suggestions online form.

As we move into the brighter days of spring, our team at Next Practice Deakin would like to thank you for being part of our community. Every season brings new opportunities to focus on wellbeing, reconnect, and take small steps towards better health. We look forward to continuing to support you with compassionate care, new innovations, and a shared commitment to keeping you well.

Warm regards,
The Next Practice Deakin Team

Assess how menopause is affecting your daily life 3. Guide decisions about treatment options 4. Monitor your progress over time We encourage you to complete the scorecard before your menopause consultation and bring it with you, or submit it via your online form if provided.
