Today, on Reconciliation Day, we pause to reflect, listen and learn.
At Next Practice Deakin, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and care, the Ngunnawal People. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
National Reconciliation Week runs from 27 May to 3 June each year. It is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and to consider how each of us can contribute to reconciliation. The 2026 theme, All In, is a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.
In health care, reconciliation means an ongoing commitment to learning, listening deeply, building trust and developing strong, respectful relationships. We recognise that improving health and wellbeing is strengthened through partnership, respect and self-determination.
This work is far from done. We are committed to continuing to learn, listen and play our part in bridging gaps in health and wellbeing.
All in, today and every day.
